The Social Metrics Commission’s latest report highlights the likely scale and nature of the economic fallout of the Covid-19 pandemic on poverty in the UK, based on YouGov survey data from around 80,000 people.
It analyses how those employed prior to the crisis have fared, breaking this down by each person’s previous position in relation to the poverty line. It also considers the Lived Experience aspects of the Commission’s poverty framework measure, including loneliness, engagement in society, and confidence over the future.
